This was so much fun! One of my favorite things about the way this was structured was the variety (i.e. having the stories broken up by ad placements or songs). When it comes to the stories themselves, some of my faves were The Best Bad Date, At the Foot of the Bed, I'm a Simp for You, the Italian Sob, Premature Health Group, and ASMR You Kidding Me. Great work from everyone here, you outdid yourselves!

I'm glad you enjoyed the collab! Make sure you check out Part 1 of the '21 collab! We have Part 2 releasing next month!

This is really cool! It felt like this great big blend of moods to me: adventurous, ominous, mysterious, optimistic, uncertain... it felt like there was a story being told here, with a solid start, middle, and end. This would make a great track in a game or a movie. It actually reminded me a lot of the track Red Soil from the Metroid series, funny enough - both in terms of the mood and the music itself.

Oh, and I know where you're coming from in the author comments. For me, "occurrence" is just one of those words that's never gonna come out right for me without spell check. It just sounds to me like it'd be "occurance", y'know?

Bertn1991 responds:

I appreciate this lovely comment. The beginning actually uses radio emissions from Mars to create the eerie tone. You can do this to "listen" to all the planets and even the Sun. Pretty neat. And Metroid was definitely a big influence for this album and this track especially.

And yes, words are hard >.<

This was my favorite track of the whole EP! It's such an earworm, the tune got into my head right from the get-go. One thing that stood out to me (and that I heard in the rest of the tracks on Limits) was the vibe that that the percussion was very "playful", if that makes sense? I thought that it intertwined really well with the melodies.

I really love the artwork you made for the EP, too - it has a lot of character, and I think it fits the music really well. Bit of a shame that the audio player only shows the waveform now; it would've been cool to see the artwork spinning around like a record, like you could display on the old version of the player.

Oh, and this isn't really related to the song at hand, but it would be cool if you posted the lyrics to Thought Spiral in the description for that track! Your voice is pretty clear on that one, but there are just a few spots here and there where where I had a hard time figuring out exactly what was said.

Wrapping things up though, you did some great work with this song, and the EP as a whole! Catchy tunes, solid production, and the artwork is the cherry on top.

Pahgawk responds:

Thanks so much for the listen and review! I'm glad the percussion stood out, I've been listening to a lot of Fela Kuti and Talking Heads and was trying to channel that Afrodisiac/Remain In Light percussion sound a bit. Trying to turn probably the most stressful month of the pandemic for me into some dance music, living by the wise words of LCD Soundsystem, "dance yrself clean."

Also if you're curious about the artwork, the code for it is up here: https://codepen.io/davepvm/pen/vYXQwBv

Lyrics are now available in that song's description!

Love the original, and this is an awesome take on it! The more electronic approach is fresh, and you got a kickass guitar tone out of FL Studios, which is always to be commemorated. Great work!

BUT7MAN responds:

thanx alot, first i was very hesitant, but i thought.. whatehell lets give it a go. i really appriciate the feedback. maybe i will do something else down that very same lane.

Great job!

Very nice! The tune is very catchy. In my opinion, if this were to be used in a flash movie, it would best work in an environment where a character is traversing down long and dark castle passageways in an effort to escape someone (or something) or chase after said someone/something. The sound quality came out great, and every sound came out brilliantly, no one instrument was overpowering, they all came together seamlessly. I could definetly learn a thing or two from you. :)

FairSquare responds:

Thank you!
And i love your idea about that flash movie :)

Keep it up!

You should definetly keep it up! You have a great sense of rhythm and musical talent. These are some pretty high quality sounds too. Good job, and can't wait to hear what comes off of your Aero album! First song I've heard by you, and I'm quite impressed.

Ir0nwoods responds:

Hey thanks for the review! I'm glad that you liked this "preview" song. I'll definitely keep up the good work and continue to finish up the album. Thank you!

Nice!

Fun tune here! I like how the orchestra comes together so smoothly with the light jingle, as ruff1298 said, it gives you a sense of beauty in the cave, but dangers also await inside. By the way, what program did you use to make this? FL Studios? Or something else?

Rucklo responds:

it's all done in Reason 4, except the master which is done in Cubase. though i really didn't do much more than slap on a little bit of EQ, a multi-band compressor and a limiter really...

thanks for the review! :)

Skill

That was an amazing take on a classic, must have taken a long time to put this together, great job.

alertG responds:

i forgot it was clock day. so i made it.

Great job

Another great song from you, except it's comedy and metal. Sounds like something Psychostick would make. XD

GoreBastard responds:

Cheers man, everynow and then I have to mess around and do something silly!
